Fédération de recherche FERMAT Fédération de recherche FERMAT
The FERMAT Research Federation (Fluids, Energy, Reactors, Materials and Transfers) has for main objective to initiate and to support interdisciplinary research projects in broad domains of Sciences for the Engineer, on Toulouse and the Midi-Pyrenees Region. The hard core of this Federation is made up of teams belonging to 6 laboratories in Toulouse.
INP - Institut national polytechnique de Toulouse INP - Institut national polytechnique de Toulouse
The National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (Toulouse INP) is a public institution of higher education created in 1969. Its internal schools deliver a formation of engineers in several fields like electronics, informatics, chemistry, materials, agronomy, hydraulics, telecommunications, mechanics, meteorology.
MICA division carries out fundamental and applied microbiological research that aims to understand the functioning of micro-organisms and microbial ecosystems so that they can be better exploited, mastered or controlled. The Division contains most of the microbiologists working for INRA who are based in 22 research units spread throughout the country, 14 of them being associated with other institutions (engineering schools, universities, CNRS, INSERM, Institut Pasteur, etc.). The Division employs 335 full-tenure INRA staff, 191 of whom are scientists (researchers and engineers) and 144 are technicians. Its research teams also include some 100 external staff (teacher-researchers, research scientists and engineers from other institutions) and 200 young scientists (doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows), making a total of around 635 people.
The National Center for Scientific Research, or CNRS, is a public organization under the responsibility of the French Ministry of Education and Research.
LAAS-CNRS : Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems LAAS-CNRS : Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems
To anticipate the interdisciplinary challenges of emerging and future systems and services, LAAS-CNRS identified four strategic axes : Adream, Alive, Synergy and Space. They are based on the four major disciplines that have been the hallmark of the laboratory since its inception: computer science, robotics, automatic control and micro and nano systems. Within these disciplines, research at LAAS revolves around 8 scientific departments running 26 research teams, basic units of research at the laboratory.
LISBP - Laboratoire d’Ingénierie des Systèmes Biologiques et des Procédés LISBP - Laboratoire d’Ingénierie des Systèmes Biologiques et des Procédés
Laboratoire d’Ingénierie des Systèmes Biologiques et des Procédés (LISBP) is a mixed research unit (UMR) attached to INRA (UMR 792), CNRS (UMR 5504) and INSA Toulouse. LISBP holds an innovative position at the interface between life sciences and process sciences. Its work has applications in the sectors of health, biotechnologies, water and environment, food processing and agri-business, and chemistry.
